Sometimes during the production process the quantity or list of used raw materials may differ from the originally planned or provided by a BOM. Also you can produce more or less finished goods or add some new items as finished goods.
Kladana allows you to change the quantity and final list both for raw materials and finished products. Also you can replace raw materials before starting manufacturing.

How to change quantity and list of finished products and raw materials after starting production process
- Mark as ‘completed’ the stage in which changes occurred and open the Operation Report.
- In the Operation Report you can do the following:
- Change the quantity of finished products and raw materials, change Operation Costs.
- Add / Delete / Replace line items.
In which cases it can be useful
- You unexpectedly produced some new finished goods, they were not included in the initial BOM and you want to count them (e.g. after cutting a wooden board to make a table you can get components for the initial table and some boards of smaller size).
- During the production process some raw materials were replaced.
- Some components were damaged during the production process so you count them as used, but you have to decrease the quantity of finished goods.
How to change quantity and list of raw materials before starting production process
- Open newly created Production Order and then open the table ‘Materials and Expenses’.
- In the table replace or add necessary raw materials.
In which cases it can be useful
- You produce very customized products and you don’t have BOMs for all custom variants, you use only the main BOM for the main Product, e.g. 120 T-shirts with application (white). After receiving an Order you make notes on how the finished product should be customized (e.g. application — 60 rockets, 60 bears). You create a Production Order using a BOM T-shirt with application (white), split it into 2 batches and change 100 ‘rocket’ applications for 60 ‘rocket’ applications for first batch, 60 ‘bear’ applications for second batch.
- You use very similar raw materials but count them using different SKUs. So after analyzing which raw materials are required you may want to replace one raw material which you don’t have in stock for another very similar one which you have in stock.
For example, you use different types of packing boxes, there is no difference for customer in which boxes ordered products will be packed, so you use what you have in stock.
How to change actual quantity of finished goods in the splitted Production Order if you produce and release in batches
- Create a Production Order and split it into some batches with approximate quantity of finished goods.
- After the first portion is ready, go to the Operation Reports of every stage for this batch.
- Change the actual quantity of finished goods in the Operation Report of the first stage and used raw materials in the Operation Reports of all stages related to this batch.
- In the ’Finished Products’ tab change the quantity of another batch to keep the initial TOTAL quantity of finished goods (also you can add new batch for missing quantity).
- In the ’Raw Materials’ tab you will see actual used and still required quantity.
- The same can be done for the rest batches.
In which cases it can be useful
- You splitted the Production Order into several batches before starting to produce, but actual quantity in batches after production is completed may vary.
- You produce a huge amount of products during 20 days, but you want to release to stock all that you produced during the day and not wait till the entire Production Order will be ready. So after production is started, you create batches at the end of every day and record what exactly was produced and how much raw materials were used. In that case just add a new batch_2 with actual quantity of goods and used raw materials during the day and then decrease the default batch for the same quantity of finished goods to keep the initial TOTAL quantity of finished goods.
