Use barcodes to simplify data entry into the system and reduce errors. Print them on price tags and labels to add items to the cart with a barcode scanner.

Barcodes for products, product variants, and services
- In the Kladana workspace, select Inventory → Products and Services and select the product in the list.
- In the Product Barcodes section, click +Barcode and select the barcode type.
- Add the barcode. You can enter, scan, or generate it. To generate a barcode, click and select Generate.
- Click Save.
You can add any number of barcodes for a product. You can also import products with the barcodes.
Product packaging barcodes
You can add barcodes not only for an item, but also for a product packaging.
- In the Kladana workspace, select Inventory → Products and Services and select the product in the list.
- In the product card select the Packaging tab on the right side of the screen, and click +Packaging.
- Enter the barcode Name, Quantity, and select the Barcode Type.
- In the Barcode box, click .
- Click Save.
Barcodes autogenerating
You can set up EAN13 barcodes automatic generation for new items.
- In the Kladana workspace, select Inventory → Products and Services and click .
- In the Barcode section, select the Automatically create the EAN13 barcode for new products, bundles, variants and services checkbox.
- Click Save.
Barcode scanners
Barcode scanners with Keyboard Wedge (KBW) Interface are compatible with Kladana. Keyboard Wedge Interface emulates keystrokes while scanning. The barcode scanners of this type usually connect via USB.
Before you start scanning barcodes, please check if the scanner works correctly.
- Print the page with a barcode sample.
- Connect the scanner to the computer with a USB cable.
- Open any text editor such as Notepad.
- Place the text entry cursor in the edit field.
- Scan the barcode sample several times. The scanner is ready to work, if the barcode value appears in the line, and the cursor moves to the next line.
Some scanners also need to set up an additional mode to complete the barcode input with virtual pressing the Enter key.
