With custom fields, you can add details you want to track in your transactions, inventory, contacts or some datasets. Simple actions like search, sorting and filtering also spread upon information stored in custom fields.
To save information that doesn’t have a corresponding field in a transaction or list, you can create custom fields.
Custom fields are displayed:
- In transactions and transaction lists — such as Shipments, Sales Orders, Stock Adjustments, etc.;
- In default and custom lists — including Employees, Warehouses, Sales Channels, etc.;
- In Sales Order items — for products, services, bundles, and batches, custom fields can be used to display important information about an item: additional characteristics (such as product dimensions or color), specific details (like product or packaging defects), or other relevant information (related products or services, comments of the employees).
Available only if the Enable the display of custom fields for products and services in transaction items setting is enabled in the account settings. Available only in the new design of Sales Orders.
To distinguish products with the same supplier code by color, size, and other similar characteristics, it is recommended to use product variants.

Working with custom fields
If you want information from custom fields copied between related transactions, create custom fields with similar names for different transaction types.
By default, information from custom fields doesn’t get into printed documents. If you want it to be printed, you need to edit print templates.
Custom fields can be particularly useful when syncing with your online store. By creating a custom field with the same name as the one in your online store, the information will automatically sync with Kladana.
